Not Bigger, Just Better

Web hosting is, first and foremost, a service industry.  Let me explain…

When you host your web site, there is a lot that goes in to it.  Intel and AMD make the chips.  Dell makes the servers.  Data centers like ThePlanet, Equinix, and SoftLayer connect servers to the internet.  Those connections are provided by major fiber-optic backbone providers like Sprint, Global Crossing, and Qwest.   Automation software comes from companies like cPanel and WHMCS.   Site building software (so that you can build a site with no HTML or technical knowledge) comes from open-source communities such as Drupal, Joomla, and WordPress, as well as commercial companies like SiteMagix and RV Sitebuilder.  Security specialists and server management gurus come from companies like Platinum Server Management.  Backup solutions are provided by experts such as R1Soft.  Domain name management comes from companies like Directi and eNom.   SSL certificates come from companies like GlobalSign, DigiCert, VeriSign.

There are many more examples, but you get the idea.   A web host’s primary job is not to develop technology.  A web host’s job is to “serve” as the liasion between you and all the technology that goes into your web site, to put a human face on it, if you will.  We bring all the various technologies  and their respective vendors together and place them at your fingertips for a flat monthly fee.   We provide technical support for them to the greatest extent possible.

This is a service, plain and simple.    A lot of web hosts and their customers are under the false impression that a web host should be a collection of policies, procedures,  and canned responses.   eVerity has always believed otherwise.

It is better here because of the very fact that eVerity’s mission is to be better, not bigger.   Big companies have lots of bureaurocracy, inflexible policies, and procedures from which they can not deviate.  Most of their staff make only slightly more than minimum wage, and they don’t really care about you because it is not their business.   They are trained to consult a manual that tells them what to say in every situation, and they can get fired for being honest and referring you to a competitor that would better suit your needs.

It is different here.  eVerity is big enough to be able to offer all the same services, but small enough to still care.   You’ll deal with an experienced web hosting veteran of 9 years, not a kid who can’t see past his next paycheck.  eVerity, like any business, has policies and procedures, but they are there as general guidelines, not rigid barriers.   With eVerity, exceptions can be made to rules, so long as we accomplish the end goal of keeping your long-term business without inconveniencing other customers on the system.  If you need something, just ask.  Open a ticket any time, day or night, 24/7.  You might be pleasantly surprised to find out the extent to which eVerity can accommodate your web hosting requirements.
