Passwords and Security
When you open your user account, you'll be asked to choose a username and password.
Please make sure the password is hard to guess, and change it every so often. We
will never ask you for any password. Please note that user accounts are for life. Even
if you don't use our paid services, you'll still be able to log in at any time.
In addition to the username/password for logging in to everity.com, each of your hosting
accounts will have their own username/password. If you are managing sites for other people,
this allows you to give access to authorized individuals only, without having to reveal the
username/password for your main user account.
Forgotten Passwords
In most cases, you can retrieve a forgotten password without needing to contact eVerity.
To retrieve the log-in information for your user account, you can click "Forgot Password"
from the log-in form on the homepage, and enter your email address where requested.
To retrieve your password for a hosting account, please attempt to log in. If your log-in
fails, you'll see a place where you can enter the hosting account's username. This will cause
the password to be sent to the email addresses on file for that hosting account. If you do not
remember the username either, please contact us to have your password reset
(support @ everity.com).
General Precautions
- eVerity will never ask you for your password. Do not give your password to anyone.
- eVerity will not discuss your account with 3rd parties. If you want us to make an exception
to this rule, please submit a ticket with the name and email address of the person with whom
you'd like us to discuss your account. Please also describe your relationship to that person.
(For example: client, web designer, grandson, etc.)
- Please make sure the email address you provide to us is one you check frequently. Sometimes
we send urgent notices about your account, and it is important that you receive them. This is
so important, in fact, that we reserve the right to terminate your account if you ignore emails
we send to you that require a response, and you do not respond for a prolonged period of time.
(Of course, plenty of advance notice will be given if there is any danger of this happening.)
